How To: Do The Dew

What you need for this look:
  • Foundation
  • BeautyBlender (can be found at Sephora online or select Sephora stores)
  • Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer or any other highlighter (i.e. MAC’s “Whisper of Gilt,” Benefit’s “Watt’s Up” or “Hign Beam”)
  • Fix+ Spray by MAC (Urban Decay’s “All Nighter” or “Dew Me” sprays will also work)

Instructions (make sure your face has been properly washed and moisturized my favorite skin care products can be found here):
  1. Once you have applied all of your eye makeup and concealer, apply your foundation of choice using your beauty blender. (I currently use MAC Studio Fix) For those who are not familiar with how to use a beauty blender here are some tips:Bounce Beautyblender against your face when applying make up. Bouncing, called stippling in the make up world, blends make up without creating changes in the texture or tone of your skin. Use Beautyblender's pointed side for hard-to-reach spots like around the nose and mouth, and under the eyes. Use the round base for foundation and blush on the larger areas of your face such as your forehead, cheeks and chin. Use Beautyblender damp when applying wet/dry make up. When Beautyblender is wet it is normal for it to expand to nearly twice its original size. Wash after use and place in the Beautyblender insert pedestal to dry. If you have problem skin Beautyblender works to cover blemishes. Use the pointed end and the stipple and twist technique to work make up into depressed areas of the face. The stippling and twisting action feathers out the make up's edges, leaving a perfect finish.” – BeautyBlender.net
  2. Apply blush of your choice
  3. Apply Josie Maran’s Illuminizer in a “C” shape from the side of your eye to the top of your cheekbone. Basically, from your temple to the top of your cheekbone, slightly overlapping your blush application. You can do this by applying small dots of the illuminizer along that “C” shape and then bouncing your beautyblender on top to blend everything together. Or, you can apply this with a dual-fiber brush tracing a “C” shape onto the indicated area and then blending it out with the beautyblender. Do not apply too much; you just want that “C” to shine at certain angles. You do NOT want to look like you have a giant frosted “C” written on the side of your face.
  4. Spray MAC’s Fix+ spray (holding bottle about 10-12” away) all over your face. Do not spray too much; you don’t want the spray to create runny streaks all over. Either let it dry naturally or put the blow dryer on your face (cool air setting) once you are done.

Voila you are all done! Now take some pictures and show off all of your hard work!
